Sightrisk is an amazingly simple idea. By inputting data from the patient, it is possible to make a prediction as to the onset of Age Related Macular Degeneration.
Sightrisk is the brainchild of Mr Stephen Beatty and Dr John Nolan of the Macular Pigment Research Group and Mr Graham O'Regan, an optometrist in the UK.
Taking into account data on over three hundred published papers on Age Related Macular Degeneration, and using a special method of calculating all the different variables, an easy to understand graph is produced detailing the current risk and what modifiable factors should be considered for change.
Major Opticians are proud to be associated with this exciting new technology which is available as part of a sight test, or as an independent test on its own, or in conjuction with the Macuscope.
