Our tenth birthday

Time flies!!

On the 18th of December 2008, we will have been in Waterford for ten years. During those ten years, we have introduced a much larger dispensing area, with some of the most fashionable frames in the world. A state of the art consulting room allows us to keep your eyes safe and your vision as good as can be.

Wow, ten years. It only seems like yesterday that we took over the practice from the well-known and well-respected Jim McGrath.

During this time, there have been some changes. We introduced computerisation to the practice, which allows us to be more efficient, and more accurate. PPS applications can be made on your behalf online with a response normally within twenty-four hours.

We have expanded the patient area of the practice. When we first took over, the dispensing area was a room at the front of the practice. We have converted a large area to the back of the practice to become a dedicated dispensing area, with a greatly enlarged range of frames. Chanel, Tiffany, Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, RayBan, La Font, Valentino, Gant, Guess, Esprit, Elle, Noduko, Jaeger, Hans Stepper,  Benneton, Serengetti and many more.

The consulting room has also been modernised with the latest equipment. Computerised sight-testing, the introduction of the Macuscope (the first commercially available method of measurng macular  pigment levels - read more about it in the information section, the article entitled Macushield and the Macuscope), computerised visual field screening and more.

We introduced contact lenses into the practice. We supply lenses from such companies as Johnson and Johnson, Coopervision, Bausch and Lomb, CibaVision and others.

What hasn't changed is our ethos. We believe in family based eyecare. We provide quality products at a sensible price with excellent service. That will never change.

Because its our birthday, we want to celebrate with our patients. For anyone who has made a purchase within 2008, no matter how small, we will enter that person into a prize draw.
