We are really looking forward to our open weekend on Friday and Saturday (October 14^th and 15^th).

The event is principally to showcase the new look showrooms which have been completely refurbished and revamped during the summer.

However, for all you Superman fans this could be an extra special event.

Tom Davies is the British glasses designer who was approached by the makers of Batman vs. Superman when they needed to perfect Clarke Kent’s disguise.  The glasses Henry Cavill wears as Clark Kent in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were designed exclusively for the actor by Tom Davies.

Apparently, the movie’s costume designer found that most glasses sat too high on Henry Cavill’s face because he has a high bridge. They sought out Tom Davies to design a one-off pair of spectacles for Clarke Kent, Superman’s alter ego.

Major Opticians is Ireland’s only Tom Davies supplier and will be holding special demonstrations all weekend at Major Opticians.

Other celebrities who have worn TD Tom Davies glasses include Angelina Jolie, Matthew Bellamy, Rowan Atkinson, Kevin Spacey and Heston Blumenthal.
